オランダにてデジタル領域で活躍するとNAP Labsとシグリッド・カロンが共同開発をしたデジタル作品「TIME=COLOUR」は、時計・カレンダー機能を持ち合わせながらシグリッド・カロンの幾何学的な模様や色のコンビネーションを堪能できる作品。永遠に変化し続ける形と色を使って時間の経過を表現し、時間の経過とともにユニークな構図を生み出していく。変化するコンポジションを作ること、時間の感覚と解釈で遊ぶのは楽しかったとシグリッドは振り返る。箱・取り扱い説明書付き。

ティルブルフにあるテキスタイルミュージアムにて収蔵・販売されているブランケット作品。片面ずつ異なるデザインが施せる最新の編み機の導入をフル活用したいと考えた。編み物の構造を拡大するとたくさんのVの形が繰り返されていることがわかる。シグリッド・カロンはこのVの形をベースに、ミュージアム内に保管されていた100年前の織り見本から着想を得た模様を小さく散りばめている。この作品は、キッチンタオル同様、テキスタイルミュージアムにより依頼されたものでミュージアム内にあるテキスタイルラボにて丸編み機で織られている。

ティルブルフにあるテキスタイルミュージアムグッズとして販売されているキッチンタオル。テキスタイルミュージアムからの依頼でホームコレクションへの追加のためにデザインされた。シグリッドは、さまざまな織り目を作ることができる織りの技法に焦点をあて、織り機の限界の数の12色の緯糸とそれぞれ白・色・黒の経糸と組み合わせることにした。どんな糸が使われているかを示すだけでなく、触感を与えるために切りっぱなしの端を選択。 洗濯することにって、より美しく、より丈夫になる。

フランスで生まれ、現在はロンドンを拠点に作曲家、マルチ・インストゥルメンタリスト、プロデューサーとして活躍するAkusmiのジャケットカバーのビジュアルをデビュー作よりシグリッド･カロンが担当を続けている。このコラボレーションは、デザイナーでありながら、2022年に発足したレーベルTonal UnionのAdam Heron氏による依頼で可能となった。Linesは、一作目Fleeting Future に続く二作目でFeeting Futureよりももう少し水平的でアンビエントなものにしたいという願望から生まれた。

Born in France and now based in London, Akusmi is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer.This collaboration was made possible through a request by designer Adam Heron of Tonal Union, a label launched in 2022. Lines is the second album after Fleeting Future with the desire to make the sound more horizontal and ambient than the first album.

大胆でビビットな色使いと視点を変えることで見えてくる織りの技術が堪能できる作品。切りっぱなしの両端はほつれ防止をあえて行っていない。「私たち人間はどんなことでも綺麗であること、完全でなければならないと考えることを残念に思う。不完全さに美しさを見出した時、完全である意味は一体なんでしょう？」とシグリッドは両端からほつれる糸にこそ「美しさ」を見出す。この作品は、ティルブルフのあるテキスタイルミュージアムにて織られている。作家によって全て裏にナンバリングとサイン入り。

A work that allows us to appreciate the bold vivid colours and weaving techniques that can be seen by changing the point of view. The cut ends do not dare to prevent fraying. Sigrid finds ‘beauty’ in the threads that fray from both ends: ‘It’s a pitty that we humans think that everything has to be beautiful and perfect. What is perfection? When you can see and experience beauty in the ‘imperfect’. The pieces are woven at the Textile Museum in Tilburg. All numbered and signed on the back by the artist.

This collaboration was made possible through a request by designer Adam Heron of Tonal Union, a label launched in 2022.The first album Fleeting Future was born out of his experience of traveling through Indonesia and immersing herself in the culture of gamelan and gong music.
