MONでは、写真家・横浪修による個展「AFTER PRIMAL」を開催いたします。本展は、作者が長年ライフワークとして続ける、子供たちを被写体にフルーツや野菜を体のどこかに挟んで撮影するシリーズの最新作です。子供たちが果物や野菜を肩と顎の間でバランスさせる、その微細な表情や仕草には、自己認識の芽生えや内なる意志が静かに現れます。自然体でありながら、落ち着きと存在感をまとった姿を、ぜひ会場で体験してください。
横浪修
1967年、京都府舞鶴市に生まれる。1989年に文化出版局写真部入社。
独立後は、写真家として自身のレーベルやスウェーデンのLibrarymanなど、海外の出版社からも写真集を刊行。「Assembly」シリーズをはじめ「100 Children」や「1000 Children」、「PRIMAL」など数々の作品集を出版し、カリフォルニアのDe Soto Galleryや、台湾の新光三越などで個展を実施している。また、2023年にはKYOTOGRAPHIE 京都国際写真祭のサテライトイベント KG+でも個展が開催され、国内外から多くのファンが来場した。瑞々しさとユーモアに満ちた豊かな写真表現には、独自の世界観が息づいている。

MON presents AFTER PRIMAL, a solo exhibition by photographer Osamu Yokonami.
This exhibition introduces the latest works from a series Yokonami has pursued as a lifelong practice, photographing children holding fruits or vegetables gently between parts of their bodies. In the act of balancing produce between shoulder and chin, fleeting expressions and small gestures surface—moments where emerging self-awareness and an inner will quietly reveal themselves. The children appear natural and unadorned, yet composed, carrying a stillness and presence that feels both fragile and assured. We invite you to encounter these subtle, attentive images within the space of MON.
Osamu Yokonami
Through rhythmic repetition and seriality, Osamu Yokonami explores identity and cultural homogeneity. His twin series, 1000 Children 2010-2013 and Assembly on-going since 2010 explore conceptions of selfhood and the range of human emotions, suggesting a reflexive and essential congruence between individual expression and communal belonging. A related series, Assembly Snow 2015, is an extension of the original where the forces of nature and culture blur into abstraction. More recently, Osamu has undertaken a new project, After 1000 Children 2017-2018, locating girls from the initial series for side-by-side comparisons of them alongside their younger selves.

On this evening, Osamu Yokonami will take his place behind the bar, serving his original “Naminami Sour” and “Naminami Non-Alcoholic.”
